Corten steel, mist, wood, LED lights
June 8, 2013 - December 31, 2004
12’ x 40’ x 12' (varible)
Location & Commissioned by: Florence Griswold Museum, Old Lyme, CT
Anticipator combines a recycled tree trunk (originally planted by Florence Griswold) with three limbs fabricated from Corten steel, each rising from their host like a fantastic new hybrid species. The perforated branches emit light and mist through over-sized flower blossoms. Its sensitivity to and interaction with its environment are key aspects of the work as it
strikes a balance between nature and technology.
